Terms of service
Plain terms for IT support work with PapsLab.
Last updated: 21 May 2026
1. Who we are
PapsLab is an independent IT support service operating from Cork, Munster, serving households and small businesses across Ireland. For questions, email hello@papslab.com.
2. Scope of service
We provide IT support, repair, set-up, security help, and small-business services as scoped for each job. For paid work, we agree a written quote (email is fine) before the work you are paying for starts.
3. Quotes and pricing
Where the job has a clear, closed scope, we will quote a fixed price. For exploratory or open-ended work, we may charge on a time basis with a not-to-exceed cap agreed in writing before we proceed.
4. Payment
We accept payment by bank transfer or any other method we have agreed in writing. Due dates and any deposit are set out in the written quote for that job.
5. Cancellations
You may cancel before we start the agreed work at no cost. Work already done is invoiced in proportion. If we have already purchased non-returnable materials or licences specifically for you, we may pass those at cost if we have said so in advance.
6. Warranties
We use reasonable care and skill, but we cannot guarantee a particular result for every problem (for example, data that cannot be recovered, or hardware the manufacturer no longer supports). Where we supply hardware, the manufacturer’s warranty applies as stated on the product or invoice.
7. Liability
Our liability for any one engagement is limited to the amount you have paid to us for that engagement. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss (for example, lost profit, business interruption, or third-party charges) except where the law does not allow that limit.
8. Data
We process personal data in line with our Privacy policy for any information you share with us in the course of a job or enquiry.
9. Intellectual property
Documents we prepare specifically for you as part of a job are yours. Generic scripts, snippets, or configuration patterns we re-use from job to job remain our background know-how, but you receive a perpetual, non-exclusive licence to use the materials we hand over for the systems we supported.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. The Irish courts have jurisdiction. Nothing in these terms limits your non-waivable rights as a consumer under Irish law.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms when our services or policies change. We will use reasonable means to flag material changes to existing customers (for example, by email on the next invoice or renewal). The date at the top of this page is updated when the text changes.
